iPad all the way!

Well, now we both have an iPad! Yes, yesterday day I (Jonah) finally got myself an iPad! Now Fonebot can finally start making iPad apps! So my quick question to you guys is: what iPad apps would you like to see from us? Do you want chipycatch HD, maybe Seach HD or entirely new amazing kinds of apps? Don’t worry we are still making a bunch of amazing iPad apps as I speak. But what do you guys mostly want to see from us for the iPad? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below.

As all of you may know, the iPhone 4 has been announced today. With loads of new features, and an overall facelift, we, like may other people, expect a lot out of this device. We will definitely be getting one for development purposes, and don’t worry, we have a lot of apps planed for the future! So do you think this is as revolutionary as we do? Updates on FoneBot

Hello everyone in the FoneBot community,

We haven’t made a blog post in awhile, so here’s an update!

Don’t fret, we’ve been working on some really cool stuff xD.

A few weeks ago we said we were going to submit Search Pro, but realized that we needed to do more work to it. As of now, we are 95% done with the app, so expect to see it soon.

Also, we made a new version of Search to give you a sample of Search Pro’s new features. It is now dramatically improved. Our estimated release date of the “Search Suite” is June 15th, but that depends on Apple’s approval time.

Now for our new project. I can’t say too much about our new project right now, but I can say that it is for iPad and it is amazing. It should be released in mid summer.

We are very happy with the work we have done with Search Pro and we want you guys to tell us what you think about it! Starting Today we will be giving out a beta of Search Pro to anyone we think is eligible. Here’s why: we want Search Pro to be a clean, swift and bug free app on release. We also think it is a good opportunity for the FoneBot community to get a sample of our new app. Now you’re probably asking, “How can I enter the Search Pro beta contest?” Well it won’t just be a random draw, we are looking for certain type of people, like:

1. App reviews (with 500 or more subscribers)
2. App Developers
3. Bloggers
4. Experienced beta testers

Now if you’re not one of the four, that doesn’t matter! We will still give them away to anyone, but you have a better chance of getting accepted if you’re one of the four.

Well, as you guys know, Apple has released the iPad, 4.0 firmware, and we have a lot of stuff on our hands! I’ve purchased the iPad, but Jonah could not due Canada’s delay in release. I’ve been messing around with it and its a truly remarkable device. But thats not all there is to talk about! Apple’s keynote on the 8th was a big twist in the world of the iPhone. They have released multi tasking, folders, backgrounding, and wallpapers. Apple claims there are 100 new features, but they only revealed 7. As we are developers, we got to test it out the first day. It is a bit buggy, so we have downgraded, for its not stable enough to use as an everyday thing. We would also like to inform you about our progress on search pro. It’s almost ready to hit the stores! The only feature left is adding a search engine, and where good to go. Well thanks for reading. For more information, feel free to contact us!

Search Pro

Many of you fonebot fans out there probably have “Search” which is an application we made awhile back. We have been getting so many requests for new features. So today I’m happy to say that we are now working on a new version of “Search” It is going to have many new features including custom search engines and a theme changer. The new Search will not be an update from the previous one, it will be the “pro” version. The new version of Search will be released sometime in mid May! Thanks for all your feedback!

Cocos 2D

So If you didn’t know Cocos 2D is basically a realistic physics and animation engine for making 2D games for the iPhone. So today I’m going to be writing a little post on what I think of it. My first impressions is it is a very clean and simple engine for making games. If you want to eventually learn OpenGL then Cocos 2D is a great place to start. Now don’t think Cocos 2D can’t do much. That’s not true at all! Cocos 2D can also be used along with OpenGL some coders use OpenGL for the 3D engine and Cocos 2D for the physics engine. Cocos 2D makes it so easy to add realistic gravity physics and more. For example, I made a sprite jump and Cocos 2D automatically made the physics for me! Once I learn it even more FoneBot will add a Cocos 2D page to our lessons!
